About screen repairs
A cracked screen is the repair we see more than any other. Sometimes it’s cosmetic and the phone still works perfectly; sometimes the touch layer has gone, the display is black, or there are lines and dead patches across the panel. All of those are the same repair, and all of them are worth fixing rather than replacing the handset.
On many iPhone models we offer two options. A premium screen is a genuine-grade OLED panel with no parts warning message and a lifetime warranty — meaning for as long as you own the device. A standard screen is a quality-tested compatible display at a lower price with a 12 month warranty. Both are fitted and tested to the same standard — the difference is the panel itself, and your model page shows both prices side by side so you can choose.
Screens on newer handsets often sit above the fingerprint sensor or Face ID hardware, so a replacement affects more than the picture. Every screen we fit is tested for brightness, touch response and biometric function before your device goes back to you. Post it to us from anywhere in the UK, or drop it in at our Harlow workshop in Essex where most screen repairs are completed the same day.
Common questions
The things customers usually ask before booking a screen repair.
Which models can have a Standard screen?
The Premium and Standard choice applies to most iPhones. On Samsung, Google Pixel and iPad we fit a single quality of panel rather than offering two grades, so there is no choice to make — the price you see is the price for the screen we fit. Your model page shows exactly which options exist for your handset.
Will Face ID or my fingerprint sensor still work afterwards?
Yes. On iPhone the Face ID hardware sits in a separate module to the display, so a screen replacement does not affect it as long as that module is undamaged. On handsets with a fingerprint reader behind the screen — most recent Samsung and Pixel models — the sensor reads through the panel, so panel quality genuinely matters. We test biometrics on every device before it goes back.
Only the glass is cracked and the display works fine. Is that cheaper?
Usually not, and it is worth understanding why. On modern handsets the glass, touch layer and display are bonded into one assembly. Separating them is possible but risky, and a phone that comes back with a lifted edge or a dead touch zone is a worse outcome than a clean replacement. We quote for the full assembly because that is what we fit.
Is my phone still water resistant after a screen repair?
We reseal every device we open, and that restores good protection against splashes and dust. We will not claim it matches the factory IP rating, because no repair outside a manufacturing line honestly can. Treat a repaired phone as splash resistant rather than submersible.
Do you repair iPad screens?
Yes — screens are the repair we offer across the iPad, Air, Mini and Pro ranges, from £99.99. We do not currently list batteries, charging ports or rear panels for iPad. If you need one of those, get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether we can help.
Will I lose my photos or apps?
No. A screen replacement does not touch your storage, so your data stays exactly as it is. We still recommend backing up before sending any device to any repairer — not because we expect a problem, but because a phone with a failing screen may become harder to back up later.
Not sure which screen you need?
Tell us your model and what the screen is doing, and we’ll help you work out what needs doing before you book.
